I Enjoyed Every Minute
Yesterday was a ceramic day, I set up my bench in the garden under the shade of a patio umbrella and boy did I enjoy it, being out there was a real pleasure, birds singing, dragonflies and butterflies popping over to see what I was up to, I couldn't have found a better place to work.
I made my first two ceramic bird feeders and was really pleased with the results, I still have to sand down the pieces and bisque fire before I can glaze them, but touch wood at the moment things are looking ok. The idea came to me after seeing the prices of some bird feeders at our local garden centre, all I wanted was something different to hang in the cherry tree but everything that took my eye was so expensive, yes there were the cheaper plastic feeders, some of which I use in the garden, but I just thought something a little more unique would be better, so I decided to make one to myself, nothing too fancy but my own, one that you wouldn't find in any country shop or garden centre, I'll post a picture on here when they are finished and maybe if they turn out ok I will list one or two in my etsy shop, we'll see.
I had my blood test for Coeliac yesterday afternoon so now I wait a few days before calling my doctor for the results, fingers crossed we finally get to the core of it and then I know what I'm facing, it's been a very long struggle, feeling ill and just not right over the past years and the through of just for once knowing how to feel normal again really gives me hope, I guess at times it got me down, waking every morning to those same feeling of unwell, but I can only hope that's in the past now.
Today I'm at my torch making focals and some etsy beads, but I'm hoping I'll get an hour or two in the garden later, no sunshine here this morning but they seem to think it will stay dry, so fingers crossed I'll be able to do those odd jobs in the kitchen garden.
Ok cuppa time over once more and I'm off to the barn where my flames waits, I hope you all enjoy your day and it stays dry where you are.
